ME AND MY SHADOW: A Novel of the Silver Dragons
May Northcott is a woman at the end of her rope. She’d almost gotten used to her employer, the ex-demon lord Magoth, spending his days hanging around her home and interrupting her private moments with her dragon lover Gabriel. Then trouble appears in the form of a nearly dead man on her doorstep.
With May fighting to control the dragon shard, Magoth wrangling to regain his position and powers, and a mysterious and deadly dragon bent on their destruction, Gabriel has his work cut out for him. Now, he’ll have to claw his way through all the distractions and convince May that their love is strong enough to conquer all of their enemies.
SILVER DRAGON MINI FAQ
Q: Is this the last silver dragon book?
A: This book wraps up the main story line for May and Gabriel, although they are very much involved in the subsequent sept storyline, just as Aisling and Drake were involved with the silver books (and yes, Aisling and Drake are in the new sept series, as well).
Q: Why aren't there four books for the silver dragons like there were for Aisling?
A: I'm very much at the whim of my muse for these books, and when she decreed that it would take just three books to wrap up the main storylines for May and Gabriel, I had to listen to her. By the time I had finished writing Me and My Shadow, I realized that although May and Gabriel have a big role to play in the next story, they wouldn't be the main protagonists. And much as that saddened me, I realized that to write a fourth book with them in that role when the story wouldn't support it was not going to be a good thing--I'd rather have their last book be a strong statement rather than drag things out leaving everyone bored.
Q: What sept will the new series feature?
A: The next dragon book, Love in the Time of Dragons (see below for the outstanding cover) will be out in May 2010, and will start the story of Baltic and his Light Dragons. Why Baltic? Why light and not a color? Those questions and others will be answered in future newsletters, but for now, I can say that Baltic's role in the future of the dragons is just too much to relegate to a secondary role. He and his mate are going to affect the weyr in ways no one could imagine.

BEST COVERS EVER!

The folks at NAL have been working overtime on some gorgeous covers for my upcoming books. I think by now everyone has seen the incredibly rich, lush, and gorgeous Steamed cover (click on the cover to see a larger image). Steamed, my first steampunk romance, will be out February 2010. I'm wildly excited about it since it's something new and different, and has an absolutely wonderful hero, Jack. Details about the Steamed ARC contest will be coming soon. If you're still confused about what steampunk is, visit the recent blog post I wrote with details about both steampunk, and Steamed itself (including a link to an excerpt).

The second stunning cover that NAL whipped out for me is for Love in the Time of Dragons, the first Light Dragons book. I'm madly in love with this cover, and couldn't be more pleased with it. Well, OK, a big life-sized poster of the cover model might make me a smidgen happier, but since that would require me to explain to my husband why I was constantly licking it, we'll move on.

The German release of the third Dragon Love book Rendezvous am Höllentor (Light My Fire) will be out in December, as well. I've been told the fourth Aisling book will be out June 2010--I'll share the cover once I have it.

AUDIO BOOKS!
The first silver dragons book,Playing With Fire, will be released in audio format in December. If you can't wait until then to hear the divine Barbara Rosenblat narrate the book, it's available now on Audible.com. I listened to it and was absolutely thrilled with Barbara's rendition of the book--she nailed every character perfectly, and I really was pleased with how well it turned out.
The fine folks at RecordedBooks.com have also purchased the audio rights to Up in Smoke (release date: February 2010), Zen and the Art of Vampires, and Crouching Vampire, Hidden Fang. No release date is available yet on the Dark Ones books, or who will be narrating them (fingers crossed it's Barbara R again), but as soon as I know more, I will share.
